Britten Farriery Ltd
Stephen Britten AWCF
Stephen’s childhood love for show jumping and horses paved the way for his journey as a compassionate farrier.
Growing up around a riding school owned by his Auntie and Nan, Stephen developed an interest in farriery and actually trained with the farrier that was used at the riding school.
He completed his training with John Blake and passed his diploma in 2010.
Stephen then traveled, under the British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association Cultural Exchange programme, around the USA for 3 months, working with some amazing farriers. On his return, he then began working for some of the best farriers in the country, further developing his skills and knowledge base.
As he progressed he passed his associate in 2016, then passed his fellowship practical (FWCF) in March 2023 and will continue to do his research the theory module.

Sarah Pinkney AWCF BSc (Hons)
Sarah works full time with the business, she is hard-working, and frankly, her quality of work is amazing.
Sarah graduated from Hartpury (University of the West of England) in 2010 with a 2.1 honours degree in Equine Science.
She was also lucky enough to have done her training under John Blake, so Stephen and Sarah have a very similar way of approaching shoeing horses. She qualified in 2016 with a distinction in theory, winning the best theory award and best portfolio award.
Sarah continued learning under the mentorship of Britten Farriery, and passed her Associate exam in 2022.
Sarah has a great way with the horses and is an asset to the team.
